Piggy Wiggy

Thankfully, my son has inherited a very high metabolism. I'm just not sure how he stays so trim after eating as much as he does. Here is a recap of his 'feast' tonight which, by the way, started at 5:30pm and it is now 6:15pm.
one cornbread muffin, two handfulls of organic o's, a chuck of tomato, two slices of cheese, a slice of turkey, 1/2 jar of greenbeans, a #3 jar of beef/potatoes, a handful of watermelon, a refill of the sippy cup and another handful of organic o's.
I don't eat this much for dinner... and now he's doing the sign for more please! Wow... I better restock the fridge.

Brandt also officially is walking... quite the milestone I agree! For months how he'll walk around furniture, but immediately drop to a crawl to get somewhere far away. Last week he took a few steps solo and this morning I watched (in horror) as he walked the length of the living room. No more crawling for him... and a little less peace for me :) You should see him... quite the cute site!

We joined the cousins and ventured over to the River Center a few weeks ago... John John and Brandt got a kick out of all the fish and BB loved the touch tank. Then we went next door to the fire station where BB got to climb in the fire truck and the boys (oh, I mean Dads) were thrilled! I think Josh and Rick were both ready to jump on the truck and go for a ride - with the sirens on.

trip to NC

We had a fabulous vacation to the mountains of NC this past week. The cooler weather, beautiful leaves and some breathtaking (or rather, breathless) hikes really refreshed our family. Hopefully, cooler weather will be coming our way down south very soon, but the memories of those chilly mornings are still with us!

Pumpkin Pickin'

I know... way too many picts of Brandt in the pumpkin patch, but I just couldn't help myself. His grandmother is far far away and she needs to see picts of him enjoying fall in Florida. Brandt and Peyton have become very good friends and had a blast playing in the patch. Of course, most of the morning was consumed with trying to eat pumpkins, throw pumpkins and climb all over pumpkins... but what else are boys supposed to do!?

Change in Washington?

we had a wonderful trip to DC last week! Looks pretty much the same to me... ;)






We were strolling around the city and popped into the National Art Museum's Sculpture Garden. We enjoyed sitting in the rain, sipping on a glass of wine and listening to the live jazz music. Definately one of the highlights of the trip. The other hightlights were: staying at the Ritz, Jill's day of solo sightseeing, roomservice, being kid free for a few days, and the list goes on... oh wait! The BREAD PUDDING... granted we were stuffed beyond belief, but man, that was one amazing dessert.

day to day

Just wanted to share a few things going on in the Howard house these days. I'm not one for long blog posts (unless they are photos) as I'm not a great writer, but wanted to share what we've been up to.
- we took our house OFF the market and have really been glad we did. We really love our home and hope you can drop by one day soon!
- Rick is turning 40 this month!!! Be sure to give him a hard time... but seriously, doesn't he look like he's in his early 30s?
- Brandt is on the very verge of walking. Grandmother Nancy joined us at the mall for some needed shoe shopping. He was thrilled with his first pair of shoes and will probably be walking sometime this week. He turned 10 months old yesterday! Thank you for the shoes Nancy!!!!
- I'm going to a ladies Bible study once/week. We're studying Ephesians! We are also going to a couples Bible study taught by my Dad... going through the book of Romans.
- Heading to see the leaves change color in the next two weeks. North Carolina will be goregous and we can't wait for the cooler weather! Brandt won't know what that feels like.
- We just got back from Washington DC last week ... it was SO much fun. I really enjoyed being on my own touring the city. Today Rick comes home from his friend's wedding in Ohio. We will miss Larry very much, but are so glad he found a cutie!!
