Believe it or not, Brandt was watching the "Splash Mt" ride here and loving seeing them come down the falls... I can't wait to take him on this ride!!!

Happy 5th Anniversary

We celebrated our 5th anniversary a bit belated, but had a great time once we finally got to the Grand Floridian (aka: Mimi's hotel)! Rick and I got 2 nights away where we ate like royalty: Epcot's 'France' for a 3 course meal (we could hardly walk afterwards) and Citricos at the Grand Floridian was THE BEST! A beautiful view from our room and some fun in the parks... we love Disney. We also went back the following weekend w/ Brandt... it's so fun w/ a kid!

Disney with friends

We had a great time at Disney with the Gardinier family. Brandt's best bud and family will be moving next week so we spent some quality time with them at the happiest place on earth. We are REALLY going to miss our friends. The boys have been together almost daily since B was born... and I'm going to miss those playdates and my friend way too much!

FPL - Residential Conversation / Sharing

Commercial Airs TODAY!!!!

Our Florida Power and Light commercial airs today... all major networks for the state of FL where FPL is the utility company. I believe it's most of the E. coast south of Jacksonville around the tip of the Miami/Keys and up the west coast to Ft. Myers. Keep an eye out for a really cute two-year old :)

David and the pool...

In the life of a 2 year old, there are daily lessons where we can teach Biblical principles. This I learned from my Mom, one of the best teachers I've ever encountered. Brandt and I have been reading all about David and Goliath... boys love adventures and this was the best illustration. The Lord gave David such bravery to go up against a giant... and to literally, take him out. Every boy dreams of such bravery! We are currently going to swim lessons with Miss Sue every afternoon and it has been very scary for Big Brandt to put his face in the water. So, two weeks into it, we stopped before getting out of the car and prayed that the Lord would make Brandt brave like David. Not a single tear was shed during the lesson... first time in two years. Brandt was so excited to receive two stamps and a ribbon... when we got home he said (in a prayer): "Thank you God for making me brave like David. Amen." Simple? Yes, but so effective! Don't we serve a wonderful Lord who listens to our prayers, even those of a two year old!?

Team Beachbody

Was the title enough to catch your attention? Rick and I have decided to get back into shape. We were tired of feeling bad, eating bad and dealing with the aches and pains of chasing a two-year old. We came across a workout called P90X. It's owned by "Beachbody" and has completely changed our lives. Beachbody has many workouts depending on what your goals are and your physical fitness at the start of working out. It's coupled with specific nutrition plans and has supplements to help your body adjust to exercising again. IT IS WONDERFUL! We've never felt so good, been so lean and are running circles around our son. Since we love it so much, we decided to become Beachbody coaches. Consoling Pluto

Brandt loves dogs. Big dogs, little dogs, black dogs, white dogs,... yes, an exerpt from "Go Dogs Go" (his favorite book) but also very true for our little man. He likes to make dog noises, roll in the grass on his back like a dog and looks for dogs at every turn. I shouldn't have been so surprised yesterday morning when, while watching Mickey Mouse, he started crying. I thought he had hurt himself, or perhaps by some random chance something on the episode scared him, but I laughed so hard when I found out what the ailment truly was. Pluto, Mickey's best dog friend, was upset because a new puppy was getting all the attention. Brandt felt so bad for Pluto that he too started to cry out of sympathy. He fell on my lap with huge tear drops saying "Poor Pluto... Mimi? Poor Pluto." Then, when Pluto was kissed by this attention stealing puppy, Brandt burst into laughter. We have my Mom's dog, Jake, on loan to us for the week... they are already best friends and I think I have a new excuse as to why we need our own dog!
