bye, bye Mango

Meow Meow Mango entered our lives a long, long time ago. My sister, Cari, brought him home to FL from Indiana where he wandered into my parent's garage. He was a rough looking kitty back then, but turned out to be one of the family very quickly.

We loved Mango. Sadly, this past week we had to put Mango down as he was battling health issues. So, in the words of my darling nephew... "Sad. Bye, Bye Mango." Sad indeed!

Mountain trip

We had a lovely vacation to the mountains last week visiting Rick's parent's new vacation home. A little golfing, hiking and visiting the Biltmore - not to mention a lot of relaxing... boy did we need it. Baby is a great traveler and was so excited to get home and sleep in his own crib!

Waves

For those of you who haven't visited our home ... we are about 1.5 miles west of US1 which is just west of the ocean by oh, say 1/4 of a mile. Typically, you don't even know you live near the ocean unless you drive by it and check out the waves. Early this morning Rick came in from his 20 mile cycle and told me to step out front (in nightgown and all) to just listen. I thought he would mention the rednecks that live 8 houses down who love to park it in the front yard. But, thankfully, I was wrong although I felt like a redneck outside at 7am in my nightgown.

Instead what I heard were waves... 12 foot waves which I could hear in my front yard. This week we've had a huge noreaster so the wind was howling from off the ocean. I was so excited. Never in all my 31 years of living in this 1/4 mile radius, had I EVER heard that melodious sound from my house. Of course, the waves died down as the day grew later and the moment was fleeting, but that sound mixed w/ a strong cup of coffee is the best morning in many many years!

growing family... boys boys boys.

Baby is now 4 months old, 16 pounds and 26" long. He's growing like a weed and getting cuter by the minute... yes, we brag because we are parents :) Our newest nephew, John William, will certainly be catching Brandt in size as he's weighing in at over 11 pounds at just 2 weeks old. The new UF football team will be ready in about 18 years with Benjamin as the team captain!
